KIM YOST - ART VAN FURNITURE -
Kim Yost joined Art Van Furniture in October, 2009. Since that time, under his direction, the Art Van Leadership Team has expanded the company from 34 Michigan locations to over 175 locations in 9 states. The company operates full-line Art Van Furniture stores, Art Van PureSleep stores, Scott Shuptrine Design Galleries, Art Van Flooring locations and a growing group of franchised locations. Under Kim’s leadership, the company has set several all-time sales records for mattresses, single day stores sales, and record sales for Black Friday, the Day after Christmas, New Year's Day, Memorial Day and Fourth of July.
In 2017, Art Van Furniture was acquired by Thomas H. Lee Partners, one of the world’s oldest and most experienced private equity firms.
In November 2017, Art Van Furniture Acquired Levin and Wolf Furniture becoming a Top 10 National Furniture Retailer, with $1.3 Billion in Annual Sales.
Prior to Art Van Furniture, Mr. Yost spent 13 years at The Brick, Canada's largest furniture, mattress, appliance and electronics retailer. He was the driving force behind the development of 30 specialty mattress stores and developed a program called Home Show Canada, an Asian direct buying service called First Ocean and produced "Brick Tube" to communicate with the employees. Under his leadership as CEO, sales at The Brick soared from $900 million to $1.7 billion in just six years. Mr. Yost has spent over 30 years in the retail industry in Canada, with experience in sales, marketing, operations and executive management with a number of organizations, including Wosk's, Foot Locker, Champs Sports and Woodward’s.
Kim is also a published author and sought after speaker, with several books: “Pumptitude”, “Maximum Pumptitude”, “Internal Pumptitude”, and “the Life Chest Adventure” series to his credit.
IFTLC's mission is to act as a resource to those in transportation and logistics functions in order to help them become more engaged, knowledgeable and effective at their jobs. The organization also publishes a monthly newsletter to help members stay abreast of industry trends, latest legislation, events, and much more. The organization holds a much-anticipated annual conference where all the segments of the logistics industry (retail stores, manufacturers, e-tailers and transportation companies) meet together to share ideas and gain important knowledge on industry topics.
