Announces 52nd annual conference in Ft Lauderdale, FL

The IFTLC was founded 52 years ago by Ray Bowman. Ray had a vision of an
organization of specialized transportation professionals networking together and
meeting on an annual basis to share their expertise, discuss methods of
improvement and to further their knowledge of the ever expanding business of
handling high value over sized items requiring specialized equipment and
methods above and beyond that of the normal LTL industry. Rays organization has
grown over 52 years from a handful of specialized truckers to an organization
consisting of specialized truckers, furniture haulers, rail carriers, ocean
consolidators, white glove service providers, manufacturers, retailers, 3rd party
providers, importers, exporters and ecommerce company’s.
Ray passed away this past year and in his honor the IFTLC has started the Ray
Bowman memorial scholarship program to further the educational opportunities in
transportation and logistics.
This years IFTLC conference will be held May 16,17,18 at the Largo Mar beach side
resort in Ft Lauderdale Florida. The first day is for registration, early bird reception
and the board of directors meetings. ( this meeting is open to all attendees) The
2nd and 3rd days of the conference will cover many specialized industry topics
ranging from
C-TPAT benefits and risks, importing/exporting, government regulations and hours
of operations, World class supply chains, anti dumping, Lacy act compliance,
Green operating solutions, Regional distribution and warehouse location and
logistics, Home delivery cost/service and speed to market, International furniture
distribution logistics and many more topics of industry interest.
